Mommy In Color Reads: What I Read In July

Hey,bookworms!!! For whatever reason, July was a pretty slow month for me. Avery is going through sleep regression and it sucks. My sleep is constantly interrupted by a toddler who knows he’s tired, but refuses to give in. However, I am super pleased with the ONE book I did read.

WELL READ BLACK GIRL BY GLORY EDIM

This book connected me to other Black girl bookworms and I loved that. I wish this book would have existed when I was a kid. I wouldn’t have felt so isolated from my peers if I knew there were other Black girls and women who felt about books the way I did. One of my favorite parts of this anthology is the book recs. There are sooo many books by Black authors recommended and I think I am going to turn it into a reading list for myself next year. I recommend this to ALL the little Black girl bookworms. They need this.

See how quick that was? For August, I’ll hopefully have at least three books to review for you. One of them I decided to read after an episode of Frasier. Love that show. Drop the links for your July wrap ups in the comments. I need more book recs. Oh, and watch Frasier. Niles is the REAL star.
